Lean Six Sigma

Lean Six Sigma joins two traditions: Lean, which removes waste from a process, and Six Sigma, which removes variation from it. The combination is taught through DMAIC — define, measure, analyse, improve, control — and certified in belts.

The courses below cover Yellow, Green and Black Belt. The belts differ less in topics than in depth and in what you are expected to do with them: Yellow to take part in a project, Green to run one, Black to lead several and to handle the statistics that the other two take on trust.

A Lean Six Sigma Black Belt is a professional trained in Lean Six Sigma methodology and leads complex improvement projects, typically on a full-time basis. A Lean Six Sigma Black Belt possesses a thorough understanding of all aspects of the Lean Six Sigma method, including a high level of proficiency in the subjects contained in the Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control (DMAIC) phases. A Lean Six Sigma Black Belt understands how to implement, execute, interpret and apply Lean Six Sigma to an advanced level of proficiency.
