02 Exam Guide Prepare your environment

Second of the five parts of the PeopleCert online exam guide: preparing the room you will sit the exam in. The video goes through what the proctor expects to find — a clear desk, no notes or devices within reach, one screen only, adequate lighting and no one else in the room — and the room scan you will be asked to perform with your webcam before the session starts.

Most of the interruptions that cost candidates time come from the environment rather than the software: a phone that rings, someone walking in, a second monitor left connected. Sorting the room out the day before removes that whole category of problem. The other parts of the guide cover the computer, the documents, starting the session and what happens during the exam.
